Risk Analyst

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Risk Officer in conducting risk assessments across different business functions to identify potential risks and vulnerabilities.
  • Analyse data and trends to assess the probability and impact of various risks on the organisation.
  • Assist the Risk Officer in preparing risk reports and presentations for management and stakeholders, highlighting key findings and recommendations.
  • Support the development and implementation of risk mitigation strategies and action plans.
  • Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of existing risk controls and procedures, recommending enhancements as needed.
  • Participate in the design and testing of internal controls with the Risk Officer to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to risk management.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements by conducting risk assessments and implementing necessary controls and procedures.
  • Support regulatory examinations and audits by providing requested information and documentation.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, compliance, and IT, to address risk-related issues and initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels to raise awareness of risks and promote a culture of risk management within the organization.
  • Collaborate with external partners, such as auditors and consultants, as necessary to enhance risk management practices.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, economics, mathematics, or related field.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and trends.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive and problem-solving mindset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other analytical tools.
  • Knowledge of risk management principles, methodologies, and regulatory requirements is a plus.
  • 1 – 2 years of experience in risk management, business intelligence, finance, or related fields is preferred.
